Week 29, 2012: Overnight stay at the OR and the morning thereafter

A TIRED SURGERY RESIDENT took a nap while waiting for his operation to begin. People in Surgery are so sleep-deprived it amazes me how many of them still manage to keep their cool, even in stressful situations.

I complimented Franco on his choice of scrub suit. "Nagmumukha nga akong waiter ng Chowking, eh," he said. I couldn't agree with him more.

The fat, black cat at the Anesthesiology residents' lounge was staring out of the window while it was raining. When I snapped this photo, the cat looked at me without batting an eyelash.

This afternoon, I spotted this man along the flooded Taft Avenue. It had been raining for hours, leading to flooding throughout Metro Manila, and eventual cancellation of classes. I didn't know these were happening while Ching and I were in PGH. A side note: I remember a friend who told me last year that he was two (or was it three) weeks late in finding out that Michael Jackson had died. What hospital work does to medical students is beyond comprehension.

I dragged my roommate Ian with me what I had a late lunch, around 3 pm. I liked his shirt very much.
